Kenneth Doyle McDaniel died peacefully March 16, 2013, at the age of 86, surrounded by his wife and daughters.



He was born October 18, 1926, to Orban Clint and Ermah Lorah (Shireman) McDaniel in Texline Texas. At the age of 9, during the height of the Dust Bowl, the family sought a better life in Vista, California, where he met his wife of 64 years, Elva Marie (Tudie) Bice. Kennie and Tudie and their siblings and friends grew up roaming the orange and avocado groves of southern California. During and following graduation from Vista High School he drove produce trucks for his brother, Rex McDaniel. In the late 40s, Tudie, Kennie and his parents began a long career of farming in the Sulphur Springs Valley. A great joy was hunting and trapping, and he began a second career with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal Damage Control after retiring from farming. He also enjoyed flying his Cessna 172.

He is survived by his wife Tudie, daughters Kathy McDaniel, Diane McDaniel Benavidez, (Babe Benavidez), Cynthia McDaniel (Warren Davison), three granddaughters, Julie Benavidez, Danica Davison and Patrice Davison. He is survived by three great granddaughters, Courtney Benavidez (Adrian Borquez), Audrey Yossem, Ireland Brock, and one great-great granddaughter, Alliyah Borquez.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, March 23, 10:00am at the Alex Espinosa Bisbee Funeral Home, 1094 HWY 92, Bisbee, AZ 85603, 520-432-4242 followed by a brief graveside service at the McNeal Cemetery.

After the graveside service, all who knew him are welcome to join with his family and friends at the home Diane Benavidez. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
