Four square blocks of 20th Street were blocked off this past Friday as Douglas Police officers attempted to find out where a “pool of blood” came from.

Upon arrival, the officers found a pool of blood near a residence and began to follow the trail.
Duarte said Douglas Police Officers later requested the assistance of the Arizona Department of Corrections K-9 unit
Neither the officers nor the K-9 unit were able to locate any possible victims or suspects within the area, Duarte added.
Duarte went on to say DPD officers also contacted Southeast Arizona Medical Center and Copper Queen Hospital in Bisbee looking for anyone with possible injuries, which may have arrived sometime during the night. But no one was identified with any injuries at both hospitals.
The streets were finally cleared around 2 p.m.
Duarte said DPD officers will continue with their investigation and have gathered evidence at scene which is being sent to the Arizona Department of Public Safety Crime Lab for analysis.
“At this time there has not been any information that would lead officers to a victim or to the circumstances for the blood in the area,” he said. “Anyone with any information is being asked to call the Douglas Police Department at 520-417-7515.”
