Governance & Organization
ASBA is a non-partisan, non-profit organization governed by its members through direct action and an elected Board of Directors. At the annual Delegate Assembly, held in June, all board members "have a voice" in setting the policies and direction of the association" (ASBA, 2013).
It appears that our school board prefers to use the term "mandated" to protect their own interests and policies, rather than the policies set forth by our State Board of Education. "
