The Douglas High School Spiritline performed at AIA Spiritline State Championship in Prescott Valley on Feb. 2 competing in partner-stunt and coed pom.

Grey’s original base and spotter was not able to attend competition due to grades.
“He (Long) did awesome, he hit everything,” Coach Andrea Arnejo said.
The group was among nine other schools to compete in this category. Bisbee High School also competed in this category.
DHS came in seventh with a total of 182 points and no deductions.
Bisbee High School placed first with freshmen flyer Samantha Harrigan base senior Marcus Still and spotter Caleb Molderm also a senior. Their total score was 260 points also with no deductions.
DHS also competed in Coed Pom. They placed fifth in the category against seven other schools. Their total points in coed pom were 230.
“I’m proud of their performances,” Arnejo said. “We placed fifth in the state is amazing for our first year competing in pom.”
The other category Bisbee High School competed is was coed cheer they placed tenth with a score of 150 points against nine other schools.
Next year Arnejo plans on getting more male athletes.
“I get a three month break and the year begins again,” she added.
