City Council meeting tonight

The Douglas City Council will hold its regular monthly meeting tonight.


The regularly scheduled meeting which is set for 6 p.m. will be preceded by a special meeting scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

During the special meeting there will be a executive session held to discuss not only the acquisition of some land but also a lawsuit filed against the city of Douglas police department.

Fifteen items are on the regular meeting agenda among those being the first, second or third readings for several different city ordinances.

The council will hear a comprehensive annual financial report for fiscal year 2012.

A resolution authoring the execution of am intergovernmental agreement between the city of Douglas and Cochise County to establish shared use of an employee workout room is expected to be approved.

Councilmen Mitch Lindemann and Ben LaForge will provide reports on their latest events.

Tonight’s meetings, which will take place at City Hall, are open to the public.
