On Dec. 14, Douglas High School Spiritline along with Spike and Spikette presented Christmas Dreams. The Christmas program was held at the DHS auditorium with two showings at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Spikette was also introduced to the Douglas community for the first time.

Approximately 200 people attended the one hour showings. Participants enjoyed performances to the Grinch that stole Christmas, Peppermint Stick Parade and Justin Bieber’s “Little Drummer Boy.”

The Spiritline normally goes to each school and performs their Christmas program to the students. This year Coach Andrea Arnejo changed it to be a family event.

“I think it went very well” Arnejo said. “Next year it will be longer.”

The Christmas program is a fundraiser for the Spiritline. There was no charge for children 10 and under with a paying adult. Adults were charged $2 each with all proceeds going to the DHS Spiritline.

" The cheerleaders were not the only ones who performed. The DHS Multicultural Dance Club was also a great part of the show bringing us excellent dances. It's disappointing how there is not one picture of them. "

" The Christmas program that was put on was fun and entertaining. The performers should be given many kudos for all the hard work they put into it. I do not find it appropriate for them to be insulted in the way that they have been here. Most of them are extremely well mannered and perform many hours of volunteer service in our community. There will always be rude people out there and when you are rude to someone first, you should expect them to be rude back to you. "Disgusted" admittedly publically insulted a teenage girl about her appearance and her uniform, this was extremely rude of her and not surprisingly it was meant with disdain and a return insult. The uniforms that they wore during the games weren't what they had hoped for, but they still met the criteria as required. Teen girls have enough issues about their appearance and getting bullied by other teens and should not be harrassed by adult females who should know better. We need to be helping our teens become better people by supporting them not by knocking them down. "
