Ysea’s pretrial set for January 25

A pretrial hearing is set for the murder of Guillermo Cruz on January 25.

On Oct. 17 Israel Romo Ysea, aka Tata Ysea allegedly stabbed and killed Cruz for an unknown reasons.

After eight days of intense searching Ysea was arrested on Oct. 24. At the time of his arrest Ysea was also wanted for violation of his conditions of release on a previous case involving drug trafficking.

On Nov. 8 he was indicted for first and second degree murder, second degree burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to Cochise County Prosecutor Doyle Johnstun, during pretrial the prosecutor will become familiar with the facts of the crime, talk to the witnesses, study the evidence, anticipate problems that could arise during trial, and develop a strategy.

Ysea is currently being held at the Cochise County Jail on a one million bond, his trial date is set for July 15, 2013.
