Jose Maria “Joe” Fierros

CW4 (Ret) Jose Maria “Joe” Fierros joined his wife Carol, daughter Tracy, and Jesus Christ in heaven on Tuesday, 11 December 2012. He is survived by three brothers and numerous nephews and nieces.



Born in Sonora, Mexico in 1935, he and his family immigrated to the US and became naturalized US citizens in 1949. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1955 where he excelled in academics, baseball, basketball, and track & field.

He honorably dedicated 28 years of service to our country in the US Army and served four tours of duty in the Korean and Vietnam campaigns.

Joe was an avid sportsman, liked sports cars, and loved to travel. He was an active citizen, mentor, and role model, where he coached, officiated, and played in local baseball and softball leagues. He will truly be missed.

His grave site is located at the Fort Huachuca cemetery.
