There have been many rumors circulated throughout the United States that there is a possibility for some type of violence tomorrow. These rumors have come from various social media sites such as Facebook and Tweeting.
DUSD, along with the Douglas Police Department and the Cochise County Sheriff’s Department, are taking everything seriously. The safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance. The Douglas Police Department and the Sheriff’s Department will be visible at all of our schools.
Please be aware that if there is any reasonable suspicion, the student will be searched. If there are any attempts to create fear or disrupt the learning environment, the student will be held to the highest and most stringent consequences with legal implications.
It is our hope that all of our students will be in attendance tomorrow. It is the final day of the first semester. We want to have this day be the start of a wonderful holiday season for all of our DUSD families.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please call your child’s school.
Respectfully,
Sheila Rogers
Superintendent
