It’s a Merry Christmas Charlie Brown By Trisha MaldonadoDouglas Dispatch Santa Claus rode into Douglas this past Saturday in the Douglas Fire Departments aerial truck, as thousands of people lined G Ave. to watch the Annual Christmas Light Parade. This year’s theme was a Charlie Brown Christmas; a total of 34 entries took part in the hour long parade put on by the City of Douglas Recreation Center staff. Joe Carlson Elementary was the overall float winner. Second place went to LP’s Dance Studio and third place was Toddler China Poblana Daniela Bernal. The City of Douglas staff provided hot chocolate, popcorn and hot dogs in Douglas’ Government building were a 15 foot beautifully decorated tree stood. The tree was decorated by the recreation staff members Elizabeth Daniel, LuisCarlos Olivas, Ivan Cisneros, Danitza Robles and Human Recourses Director Ana Urquijo. Participants displayed their remediation of a Charlie Brown Christmas while Christmas music played throughout the parade and kids of all ages waiting happily to see Santa Claus. |
