Bulldogs win back-to-back with 27-20 win over Nogales

The Douglas Bulldogs made it back to back wins Friday night beating their border town rivals the Nogales Apaches 27-20 in the Bulldogs home opener. Friday’s win snapped a three year skid to the Apaches. The Bulldogs last beat their border town rivals 34-14 in 2005 at Nogales. Joel Bello and Spencer Grijalva each caught two touchdown passes from Teran Friday night. Bello finished with eight receptions for 173 yards while Grijalva h$ The Bulldogs led 20-0 at one point in the first half and were up 27-14 heading into the fourth quarter. Mental letdowns defensively led to three Nogales scores one of which came as time expired. The Bulldogs were penalized for 115-yards Friday night making it the second straight game they were penalized for over 100 yards.
