Kenneth William LaChance, 85, of Bisbee passed away on October 15, 2012. He had been an area resident for over 50 years.

Ken moved to Phoenix with his family in 1944 and shortly thereafter joined the U.S. Army where he proudly served until 1946. In 1948 he started his 43 year career working in the natural gas industry. He worked for both Arizona Public Service and Southwest Gas, retiring as a construction supervisor in 1991.
An adventurer at heart, Ken spent many years building and racing cars at various race tracks in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. He was also a pilot, building and flying his own private airplanes in the Bisbee area. Later in life, Ken dedicated countless hours to his favorite hobby, model airplanes. Ken was a member of the Apache Birds model airplane club in Douglas, where he shared his love of the hobby with experienced pilots and newcomers alike.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Maria Christina LaChance and their daughter Linda (Eric) Graber of Phoenix. He is also survived by his daughters Marjorie LaChance of Scottsdale and Patty LaChance of Scottsdale; brothers-in-law Chris (Cristina) Dabovich and Ted (Delrena) Dabovich of Glendale; sister-in-law Gloria Dabovich; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 19th at 12p.m. at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Bisbee. Burial will take place immediately following at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Patrick Church Memorial and Tribute Giving Program. Care entrusted to Alex Espinosa Bisbee Funeral Home, 432-4242.
