Francisca “Panchita” Carrizoza, 83, passed away in Tucson, AZ on September 11, 2012 at TMC’s Inpatient Hospice-Peppi’s House.


She was born December 3, 1928 in Nacozari, Sonora, Mexico to Jose and Julia Figueroa. She married Raul G. Carrizoza on September 28, 1946. They moved to Douglas, AZ in August 1958 and spent the remainder of her life there. Besides being a great wife for 65 years, she was a wonderful mother to 12 children. She spent her entire life dedicating herself to God, her family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Martha Cecilia (February 1974) and her parents and her two sisters. She is survived by her husband Raul G. Carrizoza and her eleven children: Raul (Betty), Ruben (Yvonne), Yolanda, Arturo (Diana), Gilberto (Janet-deceased), Esgardo, Frances Arreguin (Vicente), Blanca Warren (Greg), Letty Harback (Tony), Sylvia and Joe (Carol). She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements and services are being handled by Brown-Page Mortuary, Douglas, Arizona.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 14, 2012 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Brown Page Mortuary chapel with a memorial service at 11 a.m. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery.

Special thanks and appreciation to the wonderful staff at University of Arizona Medical Center and also to the great staff at TMC’s Inpatient Hospice – Peppi’s House for their excellent care and kindness they provided for us.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to TMC’s Inpatient Hospice – Peppi’s House Foundation, 5301 E. Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712 on her behalf.
