D-Day royalty announced

Douglas High School’s homecoming royalty and dedicatee were announced last week.

Former Bulldog, Tony Cortez Rose, who last week lost his battle to cancer, will be honored as this year’s dedicatee.

The royalty court will consist of queen Yetzabell Rojas and princesses Valeria Galindo and Jennifer Montoya.

Rojas, 18, is a senior at DHS and the daughter of Suzette Forrest and the late Adrian Rojas; Montoya, 17, is also a senior at DHS and the daughter of Robert Montoya and Maribel Merino and Galindo, 18, is the daughter of Guillermo and Yolanda Galindo.

The royalty and dedicatee will be honored in the annual D-Day parade up G Ave. Thursday at 5 p.m.

The homecoming game will take place Friday at 7 p.m. against the Catalina Trojans.
