Budget to be discussed at City Council meeting Wednesday

The city budget will one of several items discussed at the Douglas City Council meeting which takes place tonight in the council chambers at city hall.

The meeting will be preceded by a public hearing prior to final approval of the budget for the 2011-12 fiscal year.

The hearing will take place at 5 P.M. in the City Council Chambers.

Following the public hearing the regularly scheduled meeting will take place at 6 p.m.

Some of the items on the agenda include: a progress report on the Economic Development Corporations activities; approval of a July 30 auction date for the Douglas Police Department plus the approval of several resolutions and ordinances.

The meeting is open to the public.
