Douglas is celebrating the Fourth of July with a two-day event on July 3-4 at Veterans Memorial Park (8th Street Park) on Friday.

Entertainment will be provided on stage by Bac2Bac featuring Rudy Bernal from 6 to 10 p.m.
The Saturday festivities start at 9 a.m. with a two-man scramble golf tournament at the Douglas Golf Course.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start an hour later.
Golfers will start at the Red, White an Blue Tees.
The entry fee is $60 per two-man team which includes greens fees, cart, range balls and lunch.
The first-place team will receive a free 25-round punch pass, while the second place team will receive a 12-round punch pass to the golf course. There will also be prizes for Closest to the Pin on holes 3, 5, 13 and 15 and for the Longest Drive on hold number 9.
Punch cards or private carts cannot be used for the tourney.
Following at 10 a.m. will be the annual Fourth of July Parade down G Avenue.
Parade applications are available at the Recreation Center through the day of the parade. Lineup will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The Eighth Street Pool will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on July 4, and food and craft vendors will reopen at noon on Saturday.
Entertainment will be provided by DJ Tech FX from noon to 4 p.m. and by Grupo Familia from 6 to 10 p.m.
The fireworks will start when it turns dark--about 8:30 p.m. -- Saturday. The display is expected to last 30 minutes.
